Graham's Net-worth Changes
I recently watched a Graham Stephan video where he talks about how his net worth has changed over the years (or perhaps not so recently, I wrote this a while ago). The video left an impression on me. Maybe I should make a video going over my net worth. Or then again, maybe not. It would be a pretty stangnet video. I really haven't hit it big yet, but maybe someday.
He starts off in his teenage years at 15 or 16 working part time at an aquarium. With 5k net worth. Graham laps me several times over the course of this video but he even starts the race way before me. I didn't even get my first real paying job until I was 21. Details on that are kind of a long story.
Graham ends his video with a 4 million net worth at 30. Which is pretty awesome. I'm not sure if I will get to that point. I'm 29 now, so I have a lot of catching up to do.
But he did talk about getting his first 1 million and going on for sushi happy hour after. I think that is a more attainable goal for me. Graham hit that goal at 26. I missed that window and I don't think I will hit it by 30 either.
Anyways, I don't want to share too much about my net worth at this time, but I can say I'm one digit short of the two comma club. I'll get there someday. I know that for sure.
That being said, being a million in net worth isn't all that impressive though. Especially here in San Diego, that just means you own your house plus maybe a car and some savings.
Had I done it all again, I probably would have started working earlier and investing my money more aggressively. In some ways though, the world was totally different then. It was harder to get started investing. There were no free brokerages then. Buying just 50 bucks of stock and paying 7 bucks in fees would be pretty steep. So in hindsight I see why I didn't do it.
There is no better time than the present though. Why don't you get started on your investment journey. Try out the app WeBull and get a free stock when you sign up with my link and deposit $100 dollars.
